Earlier today I received an email from my dad that read

REMEMBER: CELL PHONE NUMBERS GO PUBLIC NEXT MONTH
REMINDER…….. all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies
and you will start to receive sales calls.YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS
TO PREVENT THIS, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.
It’s the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It
blocks your number for 5 years. You must call from the cell phone number you
want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS.
Now for anyone that does 10 seconds of google searching will realize this is just a rumor and isn’t true. This same email has been going around for almost 4 years. And the phone number given there is the number to add your HOME number to the do not call list. There is no reason to add your CELL number to the list. And if you receive telemarketer calls on your cell phone it is illegal. So if you get this email just ignore it and make sure that the sender knows that its fake also.
